Project Description

RSE worked closely with the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) staff to develop and implement a Rail Asset Management System (RAMS) to maintain SCRRA's infrastructure assets; including a full inventory of at-grade crossings. The work included establishing a new transit asset management database, field data collection, data analysis, and populating the data.

Scope of Services

RSE provided the following services:

• Established a rule set to standardize asset evaluation and assessment

• Added a mechanism for Google Earth integration and mapping

• Improved asset data input; including auto-filling data from source asset or parent asset

• Added support for fixed location asset types

• Incorporated tools to manage future changes

• Collected infrastructure data for the entire 300-mile systems over 8 railroad subdivisions in 6 counties

• Coordinated with local agencies to obtain right of entry permits
